Mercer Cook

With more than 30 years of experience, Mercer has directed his dedication to equity in mental health along with his expertise in financial management to the APF Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Mercer was the Senior Vice President of Aon Risk Services. In 1994, he joined Smith Barney Capital Management (now Citigroup) where he worked his way up to lead North American Institutional Sales for Citigroup Asset Management. Mercer also gained substantial executive banking leadership experience as the President of Levmark Capital Corporation, Principal at Fieldstone Private Capital Group, L.P. and Vice President in the Merchant Banking Group at Bankers Trust Company and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Mercer earned a Bachelor of Economics degree from Carleton College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Business. He is an active volunteer with organizations such as Drug Free America, Big Brother Big Sister, the National Urban League and the NAACP. Mercer is also an active member on the Board of Trustees of the Mary McDowell Learning Center, a school for children with disabilities.
