John Sharko is a dedicated finance executive and community member with over two decades of experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, and capital stewardship. Throughout his career, John has been recognized for his ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable strategies, manage risk, and guide organizations through periods of growth and transition, skills he is eager to channel into meaningful non-profit work.

John’s professional background is rooted in institutional asset management and corporate finance. His most recent role at Ring City USA involved navigating strategic growth and investor relations. Previously, he spent years as a Portfolio Manager at Columbus Circle Investors, where he managed large-scale portfolios, balanced long-term goals with day-to-day operational realities, and built deep institutional networks. Over his 20+ year career, which includes roles at organizations like Macquarie Group, Thomas Weisel Partners and Bear Stearns, John has honed an analytical, collaborative approach to problem-solving and an innate ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Active in his local community, John is looking to leverage his extensive financial acumen, governance experience, and passion for civic engagement to help non-profit organizations achieve sustainable growth and maximize their community impact. He is particularly drawn to opportunities where his skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and partnership-building can support mission-driven initiatives.

John holds an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business and a B.S. in Finance & Accounting from Lehigh University and holds the CFA designation.  He resides in Rye, New York, with his family.
